Collaery Lawyers is deeply commited to the principle of “giving back” to the community. Our senior partner, Bernard Collaery, has a longstanding tradition of providing pro bono legal advice and representation to individuals and grass roots organisations from disadvantaged or marginalised sectors of out community.Bernard is also a patron of the Tongan Association of Canberra and Queanbeyan and the East Timor Relief Association.

Bernard Collaery is the Honorary solicitor of the following organisations:

A few examples of the many pro bono cases Collaery Lawyers has handled:

  • Representation of a former policeman of the Peoples Republic of China at the Migrant Review Tribunal in his claim for refugee status.
  • Frequent provision of advice and support to the community organisations on a variety of legal issues, including those affecting people with mental and physical disabilities, ethnic organisations and low income artists.
